For my audio playground podcast I decided to give a tour of my dorm room to my grandma back home. I was taking a “video” for her and explaining to her what you would see as you walked into my dorm room. Our requirements for this podcast were to give a tour of somewhere we are familiar with to someone we know. It could’ve been a tour of your college town, your hometown, anything you were familiar with, and it wasn’t supposed to be more than a minute long. So for my podcast, I chose my dorm room. There wasn’t much noise in my room at the time, so I decided to add some background noise of a fan blowing because we have our fans blowing in our room all the time. The background noise is Fan Wav by dyl0694 on freesound.org. I chose to give this tour to my grandma because she isn’t able to come here often and come all the way up to my room since I live on the fourth floor. She’s always been very supportive of my choices in life from sports, to school, and all my relationships I have with others, and I know she’d be so happy to see my room, so instead I decided I would give her a tour as much as I could in my podcast. This directly reflects the prompt because I gave a tour of a place I was familiar with to someone who isn’t familiar with the area I gave them a tour of, and I kept it under a minute. There were details from my room I left out because I couldn’t give details of everything, so I decided to focus on the main parts of the room that stand out like our decorations, our mini fridge and ice machine, and our colorful lights we have hanging up on the wall.
